Directed Sorting Automation

The IRORI microreactor-based combinatorial chemistry synthesis systems can be scaled up to produce compound libraries from the hundreds to the tens of thousands. Our solutions fully automate sorting for the synthesis, cleavage, and washing steps, providing much higher throughput than the manual systems, XKan-100 and AccuTag-100 .

the IRORI Directed Sorting technique retains the same basic execution structure for any library size. The process in any scale consists of diversity synthesis steps where groups of molecular building blocks are added stepwise, using standard laboratory glassware in the hood, to the polymeric solid support (resin) discretely isolated in Kan microreactors. These steps are interceded by wash steps that eliminate the excess reagent and other unwanted constituents such as reaction side products. The final step of the synthesis separates or cleaves the completed molecular structure from the support and registers that compound on a collection plate.

Combinatorial Chemistry Systems Automation

For large-scale compound libraries (+1000), these steps can be tedious. The potential exposure to harsh chemicals involved in the cleavage process are also magnified. IRORI provides automation solutions that virtually eliminate the labor and chemical hazard. The AutoSort – 10K executes the array enumerated in the database software and distributes (sorts) the encoded Kan microreactors into containers designated for each building block in the next synthesis step.

The AutoWash–10K and KanWash–1K efficiently and expeditiously handle washing microreactors between synthesis steps.

The IRORI Clevap Station is the crown jewel of the Directed Sorting automation suite. It virtually eliminates human exposure to the hazardous chemicals involved in the cleavage process, providing fully automated dispensing and evaporation for a "dry-in dry-out" cleavage solution.

Our automation suite can be implemented as a complete complement or single pieces can be used individually, depending on the scale of your compound production requirements. The automated components are a core feature of our in-house service capabilities, allowing you to scale-up quickly without the corresponding infrastructure and personnel requirements.
