Crystal Resolve

Crystal Resolve is a software package that uses complex algorithms and artificial intelligence to evaluate images for the presence of crystals and precipitate. Crystal Resolve can greatly aid the productivity of a crystallographer, who will make the final analysis of any experiment.

Crystal Resolve can drastically reduce the number of images that need to be reviewed by reliably identifying images that are "clear." Crystal Resolve does an excellent job of ignoring background noise and features that are not crystal-like or precipitate-like such as dust, drop edges, and plate features and finding crystal-like and precipitate-like features in images. Quantifying these properties, interesting images can be sorted by the degree these features are present.

Crystallographers can then review experimental conditions in order, stopping once they have enough information about a given target molecule. If several conditions produce crystals, perhaps only 5% of the images need to be reviewed. When no conditions show obvious crystal formation, a crystallographer may want to go through 50% of the images to look for signs, of a crystal. Crystal Resolve prioritizes images so a crystallographer's valuable time is used efficiently.
